How can I get more streams?
On this page
More streams come from making your music easy to find and giving people reasons to share it. Use the tools offtheave already has: complete release details, playlists, reposts, communities, the Underground 20 chart and Boosts.
1. Make every upload easy to find
- Add good Artwork. No design tools? Use Canvas right from the upload form. See Canvas.
- Pick accurate Genres (up to 5) and Tags (up to 20). Listeners browse by genre on Music and Playlists.
- Add Lyrics. Search reads them, so people can find a song from a line they remember.
- Add Featured artists and Credits. Members who accept your invite get the release on their profile too, which puts it in front of their followers.
See Release details, credits and lyrics.
2. Build anticipation
If your plan includes it, schedule your release. Fans get a countdown, and upcoming releases can appear under Coming soon on Music. See How do I schedule a release?
3. Share it everywhere
- Select Share on your song to post it to X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram or Reddit, or copy the link.
- Download the QR code (or the Flyer version with your cover) to print for shows and merch tables.
- Repost it with a note, a GIF or a voice note so it lands in your followers' feeds.
See Reposts and sharing.
4. Get on playlists
Make your own playlists that mix your songs with music you love, and share them. Songs that get added to playlists also score higher on the chart. See How do playlists work?
5. Be part of the community
- Join communities for your genre and scene. Post your music where it fits the rules, and comment on other artists' work. See How do communities work?
- Reply to comments on your songs. Timestamped comments show you exactly which moments land. See Timestamped comments.
- Set your best song as your profile Anthem so visitors hear it right away. See Anthem and voice intro.
6. Aim for the Underground 20
Each week's chart ranks plays, how many different people listened, likes, reposts, comments and playlist adds. A song on the chart gets seen by everyone who checks Charts. See How do charts work?
7. Boost a release
A Boost puts your song, mixtape or playlist in front of more listeners across the site. You can start one from the Boost option on your song, or from My Library. See How do Boosts work?
8. Watch what's working
Creator Studio shows your plays and followers over time, so you can see which songs and posts bring people in. See Analytics.
Don't buy fake plays or use bots. Plays like that can be removed, and it can get your account restricted. See What isn't allowed?
