Upload limits and storage
Every plan comes with music storage, video storage, and a largest file size for a single song or video. Your plan's current numbers are in the table below. You can see how much you've used on the Upload page and in My Library.
These numbers are set by the site and can change. The table always shows the current ones.
How the limits work
- Music storage is the total space all your songs, beats and mixtape tracks can take up. Artwork, untagged WAVs and stems you add to a song count too.
- Video and shorts storage is separate, so music uploads never eat into your video space.
- Largest song upload is the biggest one audio file can be. The upload form refuses a bigger file and tells you your plan's limit.
- Artwork can be up to 10 MB per image.
Where to see your usage
- Upload: Music storage and Video storage meters. While you fill in a form, the meter also shows how much the new upload will add.
- My Library and video library: the Storage card shows what you've used, your limit, and the percentage. When you're getting close, it tells you which plan gives you more.
- Settings → Membership: your plan and storage.
When you run out of space
An upload that won't fit is stopped before it starts, with the message That's more than your music storage holds. You can:
- Delete uploads you don't need anymore in My Library (Select, pick them, then the trash icon). See How do I edit or delete a song or mixtape?
- Or upgrade your plan for more storage. See How do I upgrade or change my plan?
If you're uploading big WAV or FLAC files, a high-quality MP3 or AAC file takes a fraction of the space and sounds great for streaming. For beats, you can still give buyers the untagged WAV under Files for buyers.
Troubleshooting
- "Your plan allows songs up to…": that one file is over your plan's largest song size. Export a smaller version, or upgrade.
- The meter didn't go down after I deleted something: open My Library. It recounts your storage from what you actually have.
- I downgraded and I'm over my limit: what you've already uploaded stays, but new uploads have to fit in your new plan's storage. See How do I cancel my plan?
