Do I have to pay to listen?

No. Listening on offtheave is free. With a free account you can play as much music as you like. If you're not signed in, you can still listen, but only up to a daily listening limit.
Listening without an account
Guests can play songs, mixtapes and playlists without signing up. Guest listening has a daily limit that the site sets. It counts the time you've spent listening over the last 24 hours, not since midnight.
When you reach the limit, the player stops and shows You've hit today's free listening limit. You have two options:
- Select Sign up free to create an account. Signed-in members don't have a listening limit.
- Come back later. As the older listening falls outside the 24-hour window, you can play music again.

What's free for members
- Playing any song, mixtape or playlist you can see, as often as you like.
- Creating playlists, bookmarking things, following artists, and commenting.
- Continue listening on Music, which picks up where you stopped on any device.
- Free downloads, when the artist allows them, up to your plan's daily download limit. See Can I download music?
Paid plans are about creating and selling (more storage, bigger uploads, lower selling fees and more). You don't need one to listen.
Music that's for sale
Some artists sell their songs, beats or mixtapes. You can still play them on the site. Buying one gets you the files to keep, and for beats, a license to use it. See Buying music.
Why a song might not play for you
Not everything is open to everyone. The artist decides who can see each upload:
- Followers only: follow the artist to listen.
- Private: only the artist can play it.
- Scheduled: it isn't out yet. You'll see a countdown until it's released.
If you've blocked the artist, or they've blocked you, their music won't play for you either. For other problems, see My song won't play.
