The short version
- We collect what you give us (account, profile, uploads, messages) and what the site records as you use it (plays, views, device and log data).
- We use it to run offtheave, keep it safe, show you music you might like, and give creators their stats.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Google provides sign-in, spam protection, analytics and some of the ads you see.
- You choose who sees each upload, and you can edit your info, clear your listening history or delete your account anytime.
1Who we are
offtheave is operated by avenuEmpire (“we,” “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use offtheave.com, our apps and our services (the “Service”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It works together with our Terms of Service.
2Information you give us
- Account: your username, email address and password (we store only a scrambled, one-way version of it), plus two-factor authentication settings if you turn them on.
- Profile: your display name, photo, banner, bio, links, anthem and voice intro.
- Content: songs, beats, mixtapes, videos, shorts, photos, cover art, playlists, posts, comments, voice notes, community posts, and the details you add to them.
- Messages: the direct messages, voice messages and attachments you send. They’re stored so you and the people you message can see them.
- Purchases and sales: what you buy or sell, prices, licenses, receipts and payout details. Card payments are handled by Stripe; sellers’ payout accounts are handled by Stripe Connect.
- Wallets: if you link a $DORA wallet, its public address.
- Support and reports: what you send us through the Contact page, reports, appeals and copyright notices.
3Information collected as you use the Service
- Activity: plays, views, likes, reposts, follows, bookmarks, searches, downloads, and your listening history.
- Device and log data: your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, times and dates, and errors.
- Approximate location: your country, worked out from your IP address. We use it for security and for creators’ audience stats.
- Cookies and similar storage: see “Cookies and ads” below.
5How we use information
- To run the Service: create your account, host and play your content, deliver messages and notifications, process orders and payouts.
- To personalize it: recommendations, “For you,” charts and search results.
- To give creators stats about their content: plays, listeners, sources and countries, shown as totals, not as a list of who listened.
- To keep people safe: prevent spam, fraud and fake engagement, enforce our Terms, and handle reports and appeals.
- To talk to you: service and security emails, and, if you allow them, updates about new features.
- To improve the Service and fix problems.
- To follow the law and respond to valid legal requests.
6What other people can see
Your username, display name, profile photo, bio and badges are public. Each upload, post and playlist is visible to the people its privacy setting allows: everyone, your followers, or only you. Comments, likes, reposts and follows can be seen by others, and your name can appear in lists like a song’s top fans.
In a private community, only its members see its posts. Direct messages are only visible to the people in the conversation, though our staff may review them when they’re reported or to handle a safety issue.
9Your choices
- Edit your profile and account details in Settings.
- Choose who sees each upload, and change it anytime from your library.
- Remove items from, or clear, your listening history.
- Block or mute people, and accept or ignore message requests.
- Choose which notifications and emails you get in Settings.
- Delete your account in Settings.
10Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct or delete it, to limit how we use it, or to object to some uses. To make a request, use the Contact page and pick “Privacy request.” We’ll confirm it’s you before acting, and we won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Some U.S. state laws treat showing ads based on your activity on other sites as “sharing.” You can opt out of personalized Google ads with the link in “Cookies and ads” above, or by contacting us.
11How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from the Service; copies can stay in backups for a limited time. We keep some records longer when we need to, such as purchases, sales, payouts and tax records, records of rule violations, and information needed to prevent fraud or follow the law.
12Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), scrambled passwords, optional two-factor authentication, and protected links for streaming. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password that you don’t use anywhere else.
13Children
offtheave isn’t for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we’ll delete it. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, tell us through the Contact page.
14Where information is stored
avenuEmpire is based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. If you use the Service from another country, your information is transferred to the United States.
15Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we make important changes, we’ll let you know on the site or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.

4Signing in with another account
If you sign up or sign in with Google, Facebook, X, Discord or Reddit, that service sends us your name, profile picture, a unique ID for your account there and, for most of them, your email address. We never receive your password for those services. What they share is controlled by your settings with them.
