What isn't allowed on offtheave?

Updated · 2 min read

Be respectful, post only what you have the rights to, and keep it real. Harassment, hate, sexual content, spam, fake plays and infringing uploads aren't allowed. The full rules are in our Terms of Service; this is the short version.

Don't post or do any of this

  • Harass, bully, threaten or dox anyone, or attack people for who they are.
  • Hate speech or graphic violence.
  • Sexual content involving anyone under 18. We report it to the authorities.
  • Nudity or sexually explicit content, or content that promotes self-harm.
  • Spam, including repeated links, unwanted messages and duplicate posts.
  • Fake plays, views, followers, likes, XP or chart positions, or paying or trading for them.
  • Content you don't have the rights to, or pirated or leaked material.
  • Malware, phishing, or other people's private information.
  • Pretending to be another person, artist, brand or a member of our staff.
  • Scraping the site, getting around its limits or security, or interfering with how it works.
  • Anything illegal, or helping someone else break the law.

Your uploads and the rights in them

You keep ownership of what you upload. By uploading, you promise that you own it or have every right needed to post it, including rights to any samples, beats, lyrics, artwork and recordings in it. If you use someone else's beat, get the right license for it. Copyright owners can send us a takedown notice, and accounts that repeatedly infringe are closed. See My upload was taken down for copyright.

Accounts

  • You must be 13 or older to join, and 18 or older to sell or get paid.
  • One account per person. Don't create accounts to get around a ban, to fake engagement, or to pretend to be someone else. See Can I have more than one account?.

Community rules

Each community can add its own rules on top of these, and its owner and moderators enforce them inside that community. Read a community's rules before you post. See Community rules and moderators.

What happens if someone breaks the rules

  • Anyone can report a post, comment, upload or profile from its ⋯ menu. See How do I report something?.
  • Moderators can hide or remove content, and issue a warning or a ban. Bans can be temporary (a suspension) or permanent.
  • Community moderators can remove posts and ban members from their community.
  • You're told when you get a warning or ban, and you can usually appeal it. See Why was my account suspended or banned?.

Seeing something you'd rather not see, but that doesn't break the rules? You can mute or block the person. See How do I block or mute someone?.
