How do charts work?

Updated · 2 min read

The Underground 20 at Charts is offtheave's weekly chart. Every Monday it ranks the past 7 days and publishes the top 20 songs and mixtapes, plus separate charts for videos and shorts.

What counts

For songs and mixtapes, the chart looks at the week's:

  • Plays
  • How many different people listened
  • Likes
  • Reposts
  • Comments
  • Playlist adds (for songs)

Recent activity counts more than activity from earlier in the week. For a mixtape, plays of any of its tracks count toward the mixtape. Videos and shorts are ranked by views, full watches, likes, comments, saves and reposts.

Tabs and past weeks

  • Switch between Songs & mixtapes, Videos and Shorts. The Shorts tab appears once there are enough public shorts on the site.
  • Use the week menu to look back at earlier charts. This week is the newest one.

Reading the chart

  • The #1 spot is shown large at the top.
  • Arrows show movement compared with last week's chart.
  • Peak is the best spot it has reached, and you'll also see how many weeks it's been on the chart.
  • Press play on any song or mixtape, or share a single entry or the whole chart.

Who's eligible

  • Standalone songs (tracks on a mixtape count toward the mixtape) and mixtapes.
  • Public and followers-only releases, plus scheduled releases once they're out. If you can't see a followers-only entry, it shows as locked with only the artist's name.
  • Private uploads aren't eligible.
  • Entries by people you've blocked, or who've blocked you, are left out of your view.

How to get on the chart

There's no fee and no application. Upload music, get people listening, and encourage likes, reposts, comments and playlist adds. A Boost can help more people find it. See How can I get more streams?

Fake plays and bots are against the rules. They don't help, and they can get your account restricted.

Troubleshooting

  • My song had lots of plays but isn't on the chart: the chart covers the 7 days before Monday's update, and it counts more than plays. Check back next Monday.
  • The chart hasn't changed: it only updates once a week, on Monday.
