Yes. Creating an account is free, and a free account lets you upload, post, follow, message and join communities. Paid plans (Bronze, Silver and Gold) are optional. They add more storage and higher limits, lower fees when you sell, and extra features like scheduled releases.
What a free account includes
- A profile with your photo, cover, bio, links and an Anthem.
- Uploading music, videos, shorts and photos, up to your plan's storage and upload limits.
- Posting, commenting, reposting, messages and voice notes.
- Joining communities, playlists, bookmarks and listening history.
- Earning XP for taking part on the site.
What paid plans add
Every plan's limits and features are set by the site and can change, so the table below always shows the current numbers:
You can compare plans and upgrade anytime on the Plans page, or from Settings → Membership. Plans are billed monthly or yearly and can be paid by card or with XP.
Other things that cost money
- Buying music: songs, mixtapes and beats that artists put up for sale in the Market. Many uploads are free to listen to; sellers set their own prices.

Can I cancel a paid plan?
Yes. Plans renew until you cancel, and you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for. See How do I cancel my plan?.
