How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Security, scroll to Delete account and select Delete my account. You'll type your username (and your password, if you have one) to confirm. Deleting is permanent and can't be undone.
Before you delete
- Download anything you want to keep, like your own music files or artwork. You won't be able to get them back.
- If you sell music, check Creator Studio → Sales and Settings → Payments for anything still pending.
- If you only want a break, you can simply sign out, or set uploads to private instead.
Step by step
- Go to Settings → Security.
- Under Delete account, select Delete my account.
- In Delete your account?, type your username exactly as shown.
- If your account has a password, enter it in Your password.
- Select Delete forever. Changed your mind? Select Keep my account.
When it's done, you're taken back to the home page.
What gets deleted
- Your profile, photo, cover, Anthem and profile details.
- Your songs, beats, mixtapes, videos and shorts.
- Your posts, including posts others wrote on your profile, and your comments everywhere.
- Your community posts and comments.
- Your playlists, likes, follows, followers and cart.
- Your XP and badges.
A paid plan is canceled as part of deleting your account, so you won't be charged again.
What we may keep
As our Privacy Policy explains, copies can stay in backups for a limited time, and we keep some records longer when we need to, such as purchases, sales, payouts and tax records, records of rule violations, and information needed to prevent fraud or follow the law.
Troubleshooting
- "Type your username exactly to confirm": type the username shown in the box (the @ is optional).
- "Your password is incorrect": check it, or reset it first from Settings → Account.
- Can't sign in to delete: see I can't sign in, or send a privacy request asking for deletion. We'll confirm it's you first.
