How do I edit my profile?

Updated · 2 min read

Go to Edit profile (or select Edit profile on your own profile). There you can change your photo, cover, display name, bio, location, links, Anthem and voice intro, and see a live preview as you go.

Photos

  1. Under Photos, select Add a photo or Change photo for your profile picture, or Add a cover / Change cover for the wide image at the top of your profile.
  2. Pick an image. Drag it and use the zoom slider to crop it. Your photo shows as a circle; your cover is cropped to a 3:1 shape.
  3. Select Save photo or Save cover. Photos save right away.
  • Use a JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP image up to 10 MB.
  • Covers look best at 1500 × 500.
  • GIFs skip the crop step and upload as they are, so they keep moving.
  • To remove a photo or cover, select the trash icon next to it and confirm.

About you

  • Display name: the name shown on your profile, posts and music. It's required and can be up to 50 characters. This is not your username; see Can I change my username?
  • Bio: up to 1,000 characters. You can @mention people and add #hashtags.
  • Location: up to 80 characters, like a city, state or country.
  • Website: any web address. If you leave off https://, we add it.
  • Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook and Snapchat: paste a link to your page or type just the username. We keep only the username and build the link for you. Use the arrow next to a field to check it opens the right page.

Anthem and voice intro

These show at the top of your profile and save as soon as you choose them. See Anthem and voice intro.

Saving your changes

Text and link changes don't save until you select Save in the Unsaved changes bar at the bottom. Select Discard to undo them. If you try to leave the page with unsaved changes, you'll be asked first.

On a computer, the preview of your profile card sits beside the form. On a phone, select Preview at the top.

What's not on this page

Troubleshooting

  • "Use a JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP image": the file is another format (like HEIC). Convert or screenshot it first.
  • "Images can be up to 10 MB": pick a smaller file.
  • A link won't save: social fields only accept the username (letters, numbers, dots, dashes and underscores). The website must be a normal http:// or https:// address.
