Listening history

History lists what you've played, newest first: songs, mixtapes, playlists, videos and shorts. Continue listening on Music lets you pick up a song or mixtape right where you stopped, on any device. You can remove entries or clear your history at any time.

Your History page

• You get one entry per item per day, grouped under day headings. If you played something more than once that day, it shows how many times (like ×3).
• A song you played from a mixtape shows as the mixtape. Songs you played from a playlist are covered by the playlist's entry.
• At the top you'll see your last 7 days: time Listened, Plays, Top artist and Top song.
• Filter by All, Songs, Mixtapes, Playlists, Videos or Shorts, or search by title or artist.
• Play all queues up the songs you're looking at.

Each entry's ⋯ menu has Play, Open (or Watch), Add to playlist for songs, Save, Share, a link to the artist, and Remove from history.

History is only for signed-in members, and only you can see yours.

Remove or clear history

• One entry: open its ⋯ menu and choose Remove from history. Select Undo if you change your mind.
• Everything: open the options menu next to Play all and choose Clear all history. If you've picked a type (like Videos), it clears just that type.

Clearing your history only clears your list. Your plays still count for the artists and for the charts.

Continue listening

When you stop partway through a song or mixtape, it shows up under Continue listening on Music, with how much time is left. Press play on the artwork to pick up where you left off. For a mixtape, it starts on the right track at the right spot.

• When you're signed in, your place is saved to your account, so it follows you to your other devices. When you're signed out, it's kept in this browser only.
• It starts saving after the first 10 seconds.
• Once you finish something (or get to the last few seconds), it drops off the list.
• Places older than 60 days are removed.

Troubleshooting

• Something I played isn't in History: check the type filter and the search. Also check whether it was a song from a mixtape or playlist, which is listed under the mixtape or playlist.
• Continue listening doesn't match my other device: make sure you're signed in to the same account on both.
