What is offtheave?

Updated · 2 min read

offtheave is a music and creator community for independent artists and the people who love their music. You can upload and sell your songs, beats, mixtapes and videos, build a fan base, join communities, and make music and cover art in Creator Studio. It welcomes every genre: hip-hop, R&B, soul, house, rock and more.

offtheave has been around since 2006 and is run by avenuEmpire. The current version of the site (v5) launched on July 26, 2026, the site's 20th anniversary.

What you can do here

  • Listen: songs, mixtapes and playlists from independent artists, weekly Charts, and new music picked for you. Start at Music.
  • Watch: music videos, interviews and shorts at Videos.
  • Connect: post to your feed, follow people, send messages and voice notes, and join or start a community for your city, sound or crew.
  • Sell: sell songs, mixtapes and beats in the Market, with real license options and contracts for beats. Buyers can pay by card or with XP.
  • Create: record and mix in the Booth, design covers in Canvas, and keep your renders in the Vault, all in Creator Studio.
  • Grow: boost a release to reach new listeners, and track plays, fans and sales in Creator Studio.

Who it's for

offtheave is for artists, producers, DJs and fans alike. When you sign up, you can tell us whether you're here for Finding new music, Sharing my music, Joining communities, or all three, and pick your favorite genres. We use that to suggest music, people and communities for you.

Your music stays yours

  • Uploading never transfers your rights. You choose who can hear each release, and you can take it down anytime.
  • We fight fake plays, spam and stolen music. Moderators and community owners have tools to act on reports.
  • We don't sell your personal information, and payments go through Stripe.

The details are in our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Copyright & DMCA policy.
