How do I upgrade or change my plan?

Updated · 2 min read

Pick the new plan on the Plans page, add it to your cart and check out. The new plan starts as soon as the payment goes through, and your old plan stops at the same moment. The same steps work for moving up, moving down, and switching between monthly and yearly.

Step by step

  1. Go to Plans and pricing (or Settings → Membership → Change plan).
  2. Choose Monthly or Yearly at the top.
  3. On the plan you want, click Get [plan] (a higher plan) or Switch to [plan] (a lower one).
  4. Choose how to pay: Card, XP, or $DORA when it's available. Then click Add to cart.
  5. Open your cart and check out: Check out by card takes you to Stripe; Pay with XP pays right away.
  6. When it's done, Manage membership takes you to Settings → Membership, where your new plan and its end or renewal date are shown.

Your cart holds one plan at a time. Adding a different plan replaces the one that's already there.

What happens to your current plan

  • From a card plan: when the new plan is paid for, automatic billing for the old one stops right away.
  • From an XP plan: the new plan replaces it right away.
  • The new plan's period starts on the day you pay. Time left on the old plan isn't refunded or carried over. Refunds for partial periods aren't given, except where the law requires it (see the Terms).

Moving to a smaller plan and don't want to lose the time you've paid for? Cancel your current plan in Settings → Membership, let it run to its end date, then buy the smaller plan.

Switching to Free

There's nothing to buy. On the Plans page, Switch to Free takes you to Settings → Membership. For a card plan, click Cancel plan; you keep it until the end of the period you paid for. An XP plan simply ends on its end date. See How do I cancel my plan?

What changes on a smaller plan

  • Nothing you've uploaded is deleted.
  • If you're over the new plan's storage, you can't upload more until you delete something or move up again.
  • Features the new plan doesn't include lock. For example, promo codes stop working if the new plan doesn't include them.
  • You keep the share of sales that goes with your plan at the time of each sale.

Troubleshooting

  • The plan button says "In your cart". It's already there. Open the cart to check out or remove it.
  • The XP option is grayed out. You don't have enough XP. The sheet shows how much more you need.
  • You left Stripe without paying. Your cart is still there; nothing was charged.
  • Your plan didn't change after paying by card. Refresh Settings → Membership after a minute. If it still shows the old plan, contact us under Billing & payouts on the Contact page with your receipt.
