How do I post in a community?
On this page
Open the community and tap Create post. Choose Text or Poll, give it a title, add a tag if the community uses them, choose who can see it, and tap Post.
Who can post
- Public communities: any signed-in member who isn't banned there.
- Private communities: members only.
- Admin-only communities: admins only.
Step by step
- On the community page, tap Create post. (From the Community home, Create post asks you to pick one of your communities first.)
- Pick Text or Poll.
- Write a Title (up to 300 characters).
- For a text post, write the body. You can add a GIF, emoji, or a voice note. For a poll, add an optional description, your question and 2 to 6 options.
- Pick a Tag. Tags marked mods-only only appear for moderators.
- Choose who can see it: Everyone, Your followers, Only me, or Schedule to publish later. Scheduling is only on plans that include scheduled releases.
- Tap Post (or Schedule).
Your draft is saved in this browser until you post, and the community's rules sit beside the form. Links to songs, videos and posts on offtheave turn into players.
Votes, polls and comments
- Use the up and down arrows on a post to vote. Tap your vote again to take it back. Upvotes earn the author XP.
- In a poll, you get one vote. You can change it by picking another option.
- Comments can be sorted by Top or Newest. They close when moderators lock the post, when the post is removed, or if you're banned from the community.
Your post's menu
- Change tag: switch the tag on your post.
- Edit post: editing your own posts depends on your plan (see below).
- Boost post: promote it. See How do boosts work?.
- Delete post: deletes it for good.
- On other people's posts: Follow post, Copy link, Message and Report.
Troubleshooting
- Join this community to post in it: it's private. Request to join first.
- You're banned from posting in this community: see Removed or banned from a community.
- Post stays gray: add a title and some body text, a GIF or a voice note (or a poll question and two options).
- A notice about scheduling or editing needing a plan: that feature isn't part of your current plan.
