Who can see my posts and uploads?

You choose, for each post and upload: Public (everyone), Followers only, or Private (only you). On plans that include it, you can also schedule something to go public later. You can change the setting anytime.
The options
- Public (called Everyone in the post composer): anyone can find it, in feeds, search, charts and on your profile.
- Followers only: only people who follow you can open it. Others see a Followers only notice asking them to follow you.
- Private (called Only me for posts): only you can see it.
- Scheduled: it stays hidden until the date and time you pick, then goes public. Until then, people see a countdown or "Coming soon." See How do I schedule a release?.
The Scheduled releases row above shows which plans can schedule.
Where to set it
- New uploads: Who can see it on the Upload form.
- Existing songs, mixtapes, videos and shorts: on the item's edit page, or in My Library (video library) choose Who can see it from the item's menu. To change many at once, select them and choose Who can see.
- New posts: the audience picker next to Post in the composer: Everyone, Followers, Only me or Schedule.
- Existing posts: the post's ⋯ menu → Visibility.
- Playlists and photo albums have their own Public, Followers only and Private settings.
Communities
- In a public community, anyone can see posts and join.
- In a private community, only members see posts. People ask to join, and a moderator approves them.
- You can also set a single community post to Followers or Only me when you write it.
What's always private
- Your email address and your birthday are never shown on your profile.
- Your listening history is only visible to you.
- Messages are private between the people in the conversation.
What's always visible
- Your profile (name, photo, bio and anything public on it) is visible to everyone except people you've blocked.
- The Likes tab on your profile shows what you've liked. Unlike something to remove it.
- Comments you leave are visible to anyone who can see the item you commented on.
Good to know
- People you block can't see your profile or posts at all, whatever the setting.
- An upload taken down by a copyright notice is set to Private, and you can't change it while the notice is in effect.
- Only public items can be boosted.
