Paying for a plan with XP
On this page
Any paid plan can be bought with XP instead of a card. XP pays for one month or one year at a time and doesn't renew on its own. 1 XP is worth $0.01, so a plan's XP price matches its dollar price.
Step by step
- Go to Plans and pricing and pick Monthly or Yearly. Each plan card shows its XP price under the dollar price.
- Click Get [plan] or Switch to [plan].
- Choose XP. It shows your balance, or how much more you need.
- Click Add to cart, then View cart.
- Under Pay with XP, click Pay with XP. The XP is taken from your balance and the plan turns on right away.
How long it lasts
- A monthly XP payment covers 30 days. A yearly one covers 365 days.
- Settings → Membership shows Paid with XP through [date].
- There's no automatic renewal and nothing to cancel. On the end date, you move to Free unless you've paid again.
Keeping your plan
To carry on, click Add more time in Settings → Membership (or buy the plan again on the Plans page) and pay with XP.
Paying again for the same plan (Add more time in Settings → Membership) adds 30 or 365 days to the end of the time you've already paid for, so you can pay early without losing days. Paying for a different plan starts that plan's period on the day you pay.
Switching between XP and card
- From a card plan to XP: paying for a plan with XP stops your card plan's automatic billing right away, and the XP plan starts that day.
- From XP to card: buy the plan by card; the card plan replaces your XP plan when payment goes through and then renews automatically.
- Either way, time left on the old plan isn't refunded or carried over.
Getting enough XP
You earn XP by uploading, taking part and getting noticed, and by selling your music for XP. See What is XP? for every way to earn it and the daily limits.
Spending XP lowers your balance, never your level. See Levels.
Troubleshooting
- The XP option is grayed out. Your balance is lower than the price. The sheet says how much more you need.
- "This plan cannot be purchased with XP". That plan and billing period doesn't have an XP price right now. Pick the other period or pay by card.
- Your receipt. XP plan payments appear in Billing history in Settings → Membership and on your Purchases page, with the XP amount.
