September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Destiny Malibu’s brand new single “Say My Name” release date September 29, 2023, features Destiny in the role of a high school cheerleader who, despite seemingly having it all – the popularity, the looks, the success – secretly battles with depression, drugs, and alcohol.

We witness Destiny’s character grapple with the void in her heart, despite her seemingly perfect external world. Viewers are encouraged to reflect on their own lives and what they are truly searching for. While many believe that popularity, looks, money, and power can mend a broken heart, Destiny underscores that true peace and happiness is an inside job. Destiny wrote this song about her own personal mental health struggles & how holding onto hope changed & saved her life. If you or someone you know is struggling with depression or self worth - know that you are not alone and that you are valuable, unique & loved.

“Say My Name” is not just a song; it is a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, friendship and healing. A reminder that you are not alone, and that together we can overcome the challenges life throws our way.

My question for you today is:
"Who do you call when you're having a bad day? Whose name do you say?"

Lyrics:
I will never
I will never leave you…

Hit me up
On my way when you Say My Name
Touchdown on my heart like a hurricane
Broken down on the road in the pouring rain
I will never leave you

Telepathic
I feel you when you think about me
On average I’d say my emotions border sane & pure madness
Been drowning in an ocean of clinical sadness and nobody knows
Still I’m searching for the antidote
Sitting in my car thinking of the ones I know who seem to have it figured out who got a smile on
I really wanna feel the joy that you’re sipping on
So I got down on my knees and I started asking questions
Pouring out my heart
Crying praying for some blessings
Hands up to the sky could you show me what I’m missing
Hands up to the sky could you show me how to fix this
I wanna do better
I wanna get healthy
Wanna get past this
Tell this story to my grandkids when they feeling anaphylactic
Tell them that I made it through this saw a rainbow in the sky
Started holding onto hope the sun wiped my tears dry

Say My Name
I will never leave you
Say My Name
I will never leave you

Hit me up
On my way when you Say My Name
Touchdown on my heart like a hurricane
Broken down on the road in the pouring rain
I will never leave you

Hit me up
On my way when you Say My Name
Touchdown on my heart like a hurricane
Broken down on the road in the pouring rain
I will never leave you

So I cut back on the drinking
Cut back on the smoking
Learning how to love the parts of me I thought were broken
Reflection in the mirror staring back with pure focus
For the first time in a year my feet on fire for my purpose
Immersion, diving mind deep I am one with the current
Feeling the power in conscious discernment
Pass me your cup low on love and I’ll fill it cause we are the children
Been an uphill battle crawling on the ground
Now I’m breaking free from the chains that held me down
I’m so relieved I can say I’m doing better now
Thanks to you I can say I’m so much better now

Say My Name
I will never leave you
Touchdown on my heart like a hurricane
Say My Name
Touchdown on my heart like a hurricane
I will never leave you

I will, I will never leave you
I will, I will always love you
If you Say My Name I got you
I will never leave you

I will, I will never leave you
I will, I will always love you
If you Say My Name I got you
I will never leave you

Say My Name
Say My Name
Say My Name
Say My Name
