JACKSONVILLE, FL— Fresh off coordinating his 12th annual, Jacksonville-based mini music fest series (Duval Spring Fest; Jax Summer Fest), Florida’s own Dez Nado is back on the airwaves with a certified banger in “Shot Time”, a trunk-rattling, super catchy party starter of a track that delivers just over 2 and a half minutes of pure/peer pressure.
The song, originally produced by C-Slaughter of Polk County, Florida’s Oak Hill Boyz, features a masterfully amped up rearrangement composed entirely by Dez, surgically reconstructed to turn low-energy atmospheres into a crunkfest like it’s the 2000s again.
“Being a [Jacksonville Jaguars] fan, I love to tailgate,” noted Dez Nado when asked about the inspiration for the track, adding “I just felt like something was missing from the tailgate playlist, and the [Paralyzed original song] didn’t get enough notoriety beyond Florida to me, so I wanted to bring it back as a way to do my thing while also showing love to those who paved the way and inspired me to turn up in person and on the mic.”
Dez built a buzz throughout the 2010s with his collaborations with YMCMB’s Caskey and T-Rone, along with the premiere of his regional hit cable TV series Life & Grind and LIVE from New Jax City (WCWJ-CW17 Jacksonville) where he hosted and performed to an average audience of over 14,000 viewers per airing. After winning several music and entrepreneurial awards including Jacksonville Artist of the Year (2014), Jacksonville Caribbean Awards Male Artist of the Year (2016-2017), and Performer of the Year (2012), Dez turned those platforms into contract partnerships with major TV networks such as TVOne, BET, Lifetime, and others as well as grassroots, community-centered organizations like the Florida Classic Foundation, National Battle of the Bands, and Resource Scholars where his interviews with Mopreme Shakur, Young Dolph, Kurtis Blow, Koffee, Keri Hilson, Fabo (D4L), and others helped grow his platforms even more.
Now in his 30s, Dez is continuing to build his brands and elevate musically and through his media platforms, recently earning the distinction of a Florida Black Expo Top 40 Under 40 Nominee (2023) and a Dohza ToldYa Top 40 Jacksonville Rapper (2023) after his early 2020s hit “Flawda Ish” earned the attention of Love & Hip Hop: Miami’s Trina (https://allhiphop.com) and his 2019 record “Shoot Ya Shot” earned airplay on court during the 2019 NBA Playoffs as well as on Pitbull’s Sirius XM channel, among other stations. With over 1 Million organic streams since 2019 and football tailgate/homecoming party season coming up, Dez is aiming for the net once again with “Shot Time”.
